I got a random burst of inspiration from a random video I came across and decided to run full-on with it. I've had so much fun creating this little project and I'm looking forward to continuing to explore my vast lyrical knowledge in this way.
From now until I run out of ideas, I plan to release a weekly music quiz every Friday on my YouTube channel. These quizzes are short and fun explorations of lyrics from well-known and less-known songs throughout the last 4 or 5 decades. Sometimes the videos have themes and sometimes it's just a mix of random music spanning genres. Each quiz ends with a bonus question that is open-ended (and for the first few quizzes, they're about Alanis Morissette, because we stan).
Music Quiz #1 | What does Ace of Base see?
In the first Music Quiz, we start with the question that inspired it all, "What does Ace of Base see?". In the video that inspired it, everyone born before 1990 guessed it right and everyone born after, couldn't figure it out. Which group are you in?
Some of the other artists in Music Quiz #1 include:
Michael Jackson
Bif Naked
REM
Jennifer Lopez
Linkin Park
Music Quiz #2 | What is Jon Bon Jovi going down in?
In the second Music Quiz, it's all about that old time rock n' roll and we start with a classic hit by Jon Bon Jovi before throwing you some curveballs. Surprisingly, even though my house is filled with rock enthusiasts, they only got a few of these questions right!
Some of the artists you'll encounter in Music Quiz #2 include:
The Cure
Dr. Hook
Trooper
Twisted Sister
Supertramp
I would really love for you to go watch and play the quizzes. Let me know which questions you loved and which ones you struggled with. Comment and tell me how many you got right and see if you can get any answers to the bonus questions. Leave me a like on the video and consider subscribing so you don't miss the next quiz.
And while you're there, check out some of my cover songs just for fun. May I suggest this one:
So now, I'm dying to know:
Will you be watching my new music quizzes?
Do you find the questions easy or hard to understand?
Did you like Music Quiz #1 or Music Quiz #2 better?
Are you looking forward to the next quiz?
While browing YouTube, have you come across either the quizzes or any of the shorts organically?
What other music quizzes do you enjoy on YouTube, assuming you do?
Do you have any suggestions for artists or lyrics or songs that should appear in my music quizzes?
Have you ever listened to any of my cover songs?
Any other thoughts?
