In my previous post, I told you all about the ATproto apps and tools I'm regularly using and then mentioned that there were some apps that I'm either still experimenting with or that aren't as high priority for me but still deserve a shoutout. So here's all the ATmosphere apps I'm using, just less often.
LinkRing
From the creator of pollen.place (we stan), LinkRing is like a bookmarking and also a webring tool. You can make lists of links, such as my OddsRabbit Communities list or you can make a webring, such as my Adult Content Creators on BlueSky ring. The site recently underwent a major overhaul and it's been another fun addition to the world of bookmarking.
VoxPort
I have incredibly high hopes for Voxport. Music and podcasting is an area of the ATmosphere that has very high potential! At the moment, there's really two choices for podcasting, BlueCast and Voxport. BlueCast seems to be very geared towards the Asian community and also makes it very clear that adult content is not allowed.
As is common with many ATproto projects, Voxport is a passion project by a singular creator. It can take a bit to see updates and progress, which is currently where I'm at with Voxport. I'm hoping to start seeing some movement there for a project I've been secretly working on (less secretly now).
Roomy Space
When Discord announced they were going to start some age-verification things, everyone freaked out and started looking for alternatives. I've found two options on the ATmosphere and neither one is great. Colibri doesn't show up good on mobile and it's never felt very comfortable for me. Roomy seemed to be making major strides, especially around the 2026 Atmosphere Conference, but now seems to be virtually dead. I check in regularly to see if anything has improved but so far, nothing.
Sidetrail
I like the concept of Sidetrail. Step-by-step "trails" that you can "walk". Essentially tutorials. I've also seen a couple choose your own adventure stories. So far, it's not really a serious place and tends to get a lot more shitposting type trails to walk. It'll be interesting to see how it changes over time.
Reddit Alternatives
Nooki
In the vein of alternatives, the ATmosphere has quite a few attempts at Reddit-like sites. First and foremost is Nooki, which goes in and out of being awesome and less awesome. Right now, it seems to be taken over by one person just endlessly posting news but every once and awhile... I've created a couple communities there but haven't updated them in a bit.
@bbs
Old-school forum. Honestly, it seems super dead. Everything is markdown but I created a community and have been having fun posting into the void of it. We'll see if it ever goes anywhere or gets abandoned.
There are honestly so many apps and tools to explore in the ATmosphere and I'm still seeking out and experimenting with them. I imagine this list and my regularly used list will change frequently. It's a fascinating space to play in and I'm so grateful for those who are creating for us.
So now, I'm dying to know:
Have you used any of the above ATproto apps?
What ATproto tools or apps are you using? Any you think I should check out?
Any other thoughts?
